Much of our time since returning to the UK has been in visiting family and friends and otherwise, much of it, totally unproductive.
Yesterday we had a visitor. A tiny feathered visitor with a red breast. Let’s call it Robin..:) It hopped onto the door ledge then hopped right inside.
For the next half hour or so we became acquainted. This gorgeous wee creature had been getting closer to us for some time. Hopping around close to Jen when she was in the garden, we assume to help unearth creatures for it to eat. A couple of days ago it got so close to Jen in the garden that it was pecking her pink toenails. While I was doing some work at the back of Poki, it hopped close to my feet and I got down onto the ground to interact with it.

Here it is sitting on a bar stool foot rest.

Suffice to say that our little Robin started to become a problem, as it didn’t want to go home…:) Every time we managed to shepherd it out of the house, it was back in again soon after. The weather at the moment if very warm and humid, so we have all doors open. Anyway, It would hop under the couch, the dining table, down the hallway, into the bedrooms it hopped. What Jen was most concerned about was that it would poop everywhere. I ended up trying to throw a light piece of cloth over it, to no avail. We would have been better served to have a Border Collie to round it up.
Eventually it got the message and departed.
This morning it was on the doorstep again and hopped into the kitchen area. Jen put one foot either side of it, then bent down and picked it up in her hands and placed it on the banister outside the door. How beautiful is that!! Total trust.
Next Tuesday we fly to Naples for 6 nights. We’ll write up our experiences as we go.
Meanwhile, the world edges closer to oblivion. How’s that for a political analysis…:)
Oh! And we have another rugby test between the All Black’s and Springboks in South Africa this Saturday. How many will survive that without serious injury?
